Centres and Groups of the ACT Region invite you to participate in a regional service project of ‘Giving with Love’ to the Blue Door drop-in Centre at Ainslie Village. The collection of articles will commence now and continue until the end of October 2016. All centres and groups will be participating.
“Through selfless service you realise that all beings are waves of the ocean of Divinity. No other spiritual discipline can bring you into the incessant contemplation of the oneness of all living beings. To see everyone else as yourself and yourself in everyone, that is the core of the spiritual discipline of selfless service” – Sathya Sai Baba, Sathya Sai Speaks 13.18: November 14, 1975
The St Vincent de Pauls Blue Door drop-in Centre at Ainslie Village provides accommodation, meals and general support to more than 2,000 Canberrans each month. Though the Centre is open to anyone in need, the majority of the people attending the Centre are men, with a minimum of about 80 men attending on any given week day. As our local service activity, the ACT Regions Ladies Wing has previously provided hygiene gift packs to the men attending the Blue Door drop-in Centre at the Ainslie Village. This year our target is to contribute a minimum of 91 gift packs as our offering in conjunction with the commemoration of the 91st anniversary of our beloved Swami’s birth.
Each hygiene pack will contain:
- A Polo T-shirt (size Medium or Large)
- A pair of briefs (size Medium or Large)
- A pair of socks (size 7 10 or 11 14)
- A Toothpaste
- A Toothbrush (individually packed)
- A Deodorant
- A pack of razors
- A Christmas card
If you are able to help out with this project, please provide your contributions by Sunday, 23 October 2016 to your Sai Centre Ladies Wing coordinators.
