ACT Region’s Sai Young Adults and the Service Wing very warmly invites all to attend the Birthing Kit Assembly Day on Saturday, 17 June 2017. The activity consists of the assembling of life-saving birthing kits for use by women in remote and developing countries.

Every man should recognise that the body has been given to him to render service to others. You must use the body for promoting the welfare of society. Of what use is the endless study of books if you do not use your knowledge for the good of others? A mind that is not utilised for imparting joy to others or a body that is not used for the service of others are totally useless. The best way to love God is to love all and serve all. – Sathya Sai Speaks, Vol 30.2.

The Assembly of birthing kits is arranged in conjunction with the Birthing Kit Foundation (BKF) of Australia, a not-for-profit, non-government organisation with no religious or political affiliations, dedicated to providing a clean and safe birthing environment for women in developing countries. The birthing kits assembled during Assembly Days are distributed by BKF to women in rural and remote communities in developing countries. These supplies facilitate clean births and potentially can save the lives of mothers and babies in these communities.

The assembly of birthing kits in the ACT Region of the Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG has been undertaken for the past four years and to date over 1500 kits have been assembled.

Through Birthing Kit Assembly Days, our members and other participants learn to practise Love and Selfless Service when assembling the kits with great care and enthusiasm. The activity personifies the very essence of Sathya Sai’s teachings of love and selfless service to humanity, especially the most vulnerable.

Assembly Days are an enjoyable activity and a great way to bring people together to help make a difference. The kits we pack and hold in our hands will next be in the hands of women delivering babies in the world’s most vulnerable communities. So why not join us? All are welcome to participate in the activity. A light lunch will be served at the conclusion of the event. Further details can be found in the attached Flyer.
