SSIO receives Achievement Award from Australian Red Cross

On 20 March 2019 the SSIO attended a special event organised by the Australian Red Cross Blood Service NSW to honour blood donation contributions provided by members of by organisations involved in their Red25 programme. The SSIO’s drive styled ‘Liquid Love’ received an Achievement Award for our contributions during 2018. This is an ongoing potentially life-saving service project commenced some years ago.

The emphasis on character building as an important and essential aspect of education has been a corner stone of the education system that Sathya Sai Baba developed. It focuses on the importance of human values as a latent and an integral part of our human nature and the need to foster these to bring out our true humanness. The Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG’s is encouraging support for Earth Hour. An annual event originated in Australia in 2007 in which people, communities and businesses are encouraged to switch off their lights for an hour as a focus on environmental awareness issues.

‘Healthy Ageing’ Forums, Bundaberg Qld and Roberston NSW

Two forums have recently been delivered to local communities on Healthy Ageing with the assistance of the Sai Medical Unit. These seminars are along the lines of those established by the Unit for first forum conducted in ACT with another conducted in Sydney.

Healthy Ageing Workshop – Queensland

The Queensland Region of the Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG, with participating health professionals on 23 February 2019 are conducting a workshop focused on health changes as we age and resources available within the community. This is the 3rd such workshop conducted by the SSIO for the benefit of the local communities. The workshop is suitable for those over the age of 60 and carers of such people. All are welcome to attend.
