abkTo mark the auspicious day of Guru Poornima, the devotees of the ACT region will humbly offer a service activity on 10 July 2016 and a Devotional Programme on 24 July 2016 to our beloved Sathya Sai.

Our Service Activity on the 10th of July 2016 is an offering with a strong feeling “Every woman has the right to a clean and safe childbirth”. This activity is arranged in collaboration with the Birthing Kit Foundation of Australia. Selfless service to others is the fastest path to inner spiritual transformation. Sathya Sai Baba guides one and all to realise the Brotherhood of man and the Fatherhood of God by our selfless service.

The Birthing Kit Assembly Day activity is organised by the Youth Wing together with Service Wing of the Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG’s ACT Region. The assembly of birthing kits is done to assist the Birthing Kit Foundation, an organisation dedicated to providing a clean and safe birthing environment for women in developing countries. The birthing kits contain supplies that facilitate clean births which can potentially save the lives of mothers and babies in rural and remote communities.

The ACT Region has assembled more than 1500 birthing kits over the past 4 years and has contributed towards the Birthing Kit Foundation’s of Australia’s goal of reducing infant and maternal morbidity and mortality.

Consider sevā (selfless service) as the most important activity of the Samitis (centres or service groups), for it is the highest sādhanā (spiritual discipline). Do not entangle yourselves in pros and cons, in arguments for and against, whether this way or that. They are the consequence of wrong or perverted scholarship. Love ignores logic. Sevā respects no syllogism. Try to observe the rules that have been framed through Love, to canalise the Love that you are required to cultivate. I have said this so often that all of you know my mind already: “Start the day with love; spend the day with love; fill the day with love; end the day with love; that is the way to God”.- Study Guide Selfless Service SSS 11.35: December 23, 1971
