The centres and groups of the Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG will be celebrating the 91st year of the advent of Sathya Sai Baba throughout the different regions of Australia. The celebrations are open to all and all are warmly welcomed.
“I have come to light the lamp of Love in your hearts, to see that it shines day by day with added lustre. I have not come on behalf of any exclusive religion. I have not come on any mission of publicity for any sect or creed or cause; nor have I come to collect followers for any doctrine. I have no plan to attract disciples or devotees into my fold or any fold. I have come to tell you of this unitary faith, this spiritual principle, this path of Love, this virtue of Love, this duty of Love, this obligation to Love.” – Sathya Sai Baba 4.7.68
“Spend the years of your life, the wherewithal you earn or possess, in the service of others who are in distress. Love grows on such service. Service is the sincerest form of adoration of God.” – Sathya Sai Baba. May 15, 1971.
Sathya Sai Baba was born on 23 November 1926. In His lifetime us, he has inspired millions with His teachings and guidance on a path to Godhead, one not bound by a particular religious faith, but by the universality of the indwelling Spirit. He proclaimed the pre-eminence of Love as the cornerstone of human relations and connection to the Divine. ‘Love all; Serve all.’ The example of His life and His emphasis on man’s obligation to serve those in need has resulted in the followers of His teachings undertaking myriads of service projects. These range from individual one-to-one service, or ‘heart-to-hearts’ service, through to huge projects such as the establishment of free educational institutions from primary to university level, free health services, including state of the art hospitals, and the delivery of water to millions in drought affected areas of India. The organisation He created is ever active in areas of humanitarian crisis.
He is revered and loved by millions throughout the world. Though He has passed from us on the physical level, His influence continues to be a major factor in the lives of His followers.
Every year, the anniversary of His birth is a time of celebration and reflection on Sai himself and the legacy of His teachings.
