The ACT Region of the Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG, together with the Sai Medical Unit and other participating health professionals are conducting a workshop focused on health changes as we age and resources available within the community.

The workshop will be conducted on Sunday, 2 April at the Senior Citizens’ Centre, Turner ACT.

The workshop is suitable for people aged 55 years and older, or for carers of elderly people. All within the preceding mentioned group are welcome. Registration is required.

Following the recent launch of the Sai Care Program, Canberra doctors and other professionals along with the Sai Medical Unit of Australia, have come forward to impart their knowledge in medicine and to share how they incorporate human values, such as love, peace and right conduct into the theory and practice of medicine.

Healthy ageing is about enhancing opportunities for good health, so that older people can take an active part in society and enjoy an independent and high quality of life.

This program has been carefully designed for both those approaching the time when age-related health issues are likely to occur and carers of the elderly. It is designed give an understanding of the health and mind-related issues of the elderly and how a medical professional can meet their patient’s need with love and compassion. In particular the topics that are likely to be covered at this workshop are; positive ageing, adaptability of our brain, dental care, eye care, hearing issues, gut issues and meditation. In addition, attendees will also be given strategies on how to discuss end of life decisions with their families. The breadth of experience and knowledge that will be brought by these speakers will make it an educational and enriching experience for all attendees. Entertainment in the form of dance and musical items will follow the workshop. Refreshments will also be served.
