Our South Australian Region of the Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG will be conducting an introductory session on the Light Meditation at the request of a local community centre.
Light Meditation is a simple guided visualisation technique that aims to promote inner peace and personal growth.
The session will be held on Saturday, 13 May at the Adelaide South West Community Centre.
Light is the greatest purifier, as it dispels all darkness – Sathya Sai Baba
Light Meditation, also called Jyothi Meditation, provides an effective tool for coping with everyday stress and fosters concentration and calmness. It requires no previous experience and can be practiced by all, either individually or in a group setting.
At the beginning of the exercise, participants focus on a source of light, such as a candle flame, which serves as a symbol of healing and positivity. Subsequently, a facilitator guides participants to visualise this light being internalised within their body, progressively moving throughout the body and removing all negativity. At the conclusion of the meditation, the light is visualised as expanding from the participants to encompass all beings, thus promoting a sense of unity and tolerance. Regular practice of the meditation has enormous benefits for peace of mind.
The session will be taken by Thomas Lahey who has been practicing this meditation for 20 years. He encourages you to take your smart phone or some simple recording device so that you can record the session and practice it in your own time.
All are very welcome to attend.
