Calling all workers!!! the Service Wing of the Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG is organising a working bee to carry out regular maintenance work on the two campuses of the Sathya Sai College at Murwillumbah NSW over the weekend of 14 & 15 July.
The provision and maintenance of the Sai college is a principle service activity of the organisation in Australia, supporting the school as a model of encompassing human values as an integral element in all subjects in the normal academic curriculum. The objectives of the college include demonstrating both the benefits of such a curriculum for the rounded development of students, as well as the value such students will be to the community; becoming people with a more caring and respectful attitudes to others and a sense of responsibility towards their families and the wider community and nation.
The human values are of course, Love, Peace, Truth, Right Action and Non-violence, all values that are enshrined in the world’s religions and are the touchstone of evaluating high standards of human character and behaviour.
Students and the Sathya Sai Organisation are involved in community service projects in the local area.
The college with its primary and secondary campuses is not-for-profit and no fees are charged to the students, sharing our founder, Sathya Sai Baba’s belief that education should be freely available to all regardless of their ability to pay. The maintenance of the facilities is assisted by service rendered from time to time by volunteers who value the work of the college. This is another opportunity to participate in this worthwhile activity. Recreational and other pleasurable activities will be included over the weekend.
