The Education Wing of Western Australia Region of the Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG is organising a family ‘Funday’ for its Sathya Sai Education (SSE) students and families focusing on environmental awareness on 24 September. All are very welcome.

“Man is deriving innumerable debt from Nature and enjoying the amenities provided by Nature in various ways. But what is the gratitude he is showing to Nature? What gratitude is he offering to the Divine? He is forgetting the Divine, who is the provider of everything. That is the reason for his becoming prey to various difficulties and calamities. While he is receiving countless gifts from Providence, he is offering nothing in return to Nature of God.…when we are enjoined to return good for evil, how unbecoming is it to fail to even return good for good? Man is not learning the great lessons Nature is teaching him. The foremost lesson is doing service with no expectation of return.” – Sathya Sai Baba 12 July 1988

Environmental issues are very much a concern in this day and age, with massive consumerism, resource abuse and exploitation and extraordinary amounts of waste and environmental pollution. What better theme for our children to explore for they are the ones who either turn this tide or continue this lead to potential disaster.

The theme ‘Go Green, Be Keen and Redeem’ aims to raise awareness of the children and adults attending the Funday, inspire them to become excited with a ‘can do’ attitude and act, personally and collectively to turn around our current attitudes and actions. Appropriate workshops and activities will be a feature of the day’s activities.

The day is also designed to further develop the bonds of friendship and fellowship among the participants…it promises to be a fun-filled, inspirational day and one that may change lives.
