The Sai Medical Unit with the Sathya Sai Centre of Bundaberg organised a free yoga session for members of the Bundaberg community. The objective was to practically demonstrate the benefits of yoga as a stress relief activity, as well as a wonderful, healthful form of exercise. The activity took place on 4 May..

The Sai Medial Unit is a team of health professionals who are voluntarily dedicating their time to promote good health in the community and abroad. Importantly, they incorporate the need to practice loving care, consideration and compassion with all prospective patients as a core consideration in health care. They have recently been organising a number of workshops and seminars targeting healthy ageing for our senior citizens and mental health awareness for the community at large.

This latest endeavour was generously supported by Ms Tamar Boas, a yoga teacher from Queensland who instructed the maximum capacity group of 18 participants attending the session. The session was held at the Peace Within @ The Loft yoga studio., 56 Bourong Street Bundaberg.

The feedback from the participants was very positive and all seemed to have enjoyed the workout with comments suggesting this may be the start of something new for some.

“Enjoyed the session as a complete novice “.
“Great session, relaxed my very sore back”.
“Felt relaxed and Uplifted afterward, fantastic”.
“I enjoyed the Yoga session today, will love to join again”

The lovely vegetarian meal provided by the Bundaberg Sai group following the session was also highly praised.
The medical unit is continuing to role out its established workshops and is feeding into more activities.

The happy yoga group

A pleasant meal to end the session
