Victoria East Region of the SSIO has been supporting this worthy service program for several years. Volunteers pack boxes of Christmas gifts to be distributed to children in developing counties by Samaritan’s Purse Australia. Packing will take place on Saturday, 12 October 2019. All are welcome to assist.

‘In the spiritual path, the first step is Selfless Service. Through Selfless Service, man can realise the Divinity that is all this Creation. – Sathya Sai Baba Nov 1970

Samaritan’s Purse facilitate this service, with the Victoria East Region of the SSIO supporting the program. Each year gifts are distributed to children in developing countries around the world. We consider each shoe box gift an opportunity to touch a child’s heart and share our love. Samaritan’s Purse suggest a prayer for each child.

The suggested items to include in each shoe box are; something to love, something to wear, something to play with, something for school, something for personal hygiene and something special for the child receiving the box.

Volunteers will be packing shoe boxes with gifts already supplied (No donations are required). Please refer to the flyer available for download for more information regarding requirements for the service.
