SSIO Education Week

Education Week is an annual event observed in August by the SSIO with an emphasis on the Sai Spiritual Education program (SSE) encompassing the principles and aspects of education that Sathya Sai Baba taught for spiritual and social uplift and development. There is a primary focus on the human values of Peace, Truth, Right Conduct, Non-violence and especially Love, which are values enshrined in all the major religions.

Sathya Sai College

The Sathya Sai College has had some important upgrades in its facilities and has been expanding its operations through 2019 and 2020 within both its Primary Education campus at Murrwillumbah and particularly with its Secondary Education Campus at Dungay. Of course, the restrictions placed upon schools during the COVID19 crisis have had impacts with online learning being an important development in the teaching delivery.

Sathya Sai Baba said that ‘THE END OF EDUCATION IS CHARACTER’ and emphasises the importance of living one’s life in concert with the five Human Values – Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love, and Non-violence. Human values and good character are espoused in Sai Spiritual Education (SSE). Students learn about Spirituality, Unity of Religions, the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man as well as about Sai Culture through studying Sathya Sai Baba’s life and teachings.

NSW Regions East and West of the SSIO are hosting a workshop focused on parenting skills and the incorporation of human values in child raising for the benefits of both children and parents. Education Week as it applies to the Sathya Sai International Organisation is observed in August as a way of focusing and reflecting on principles and aspects of education that Sathya Sai Baba taught for spiritual and social uplift and development. One approach He promoted was Educare, a system in which the inherent values that are at the basis of humanness are recognised and developed by the individual. The values are: Peace, Love, Truth, Right Behaviour and Non-violence. Various Regions and groups will observe the week in different ways. All are most welcome to participate in the events and find out more about Sai Education programmes.
