Sathya Sai College — Bush Regeneration

On Sunday, 29 November 2020, members from the Gold Coast Tweed Region of the SSIO along with representatives of the Sathya Sai College, worked together as part of a bush regeneration project at the Sathya Sai College, Secondary Campus in Dungay, NSW. The team dug over 100 holes in preparation for students to plant a selection of native Australian trees during their school activities as part of the bush regeneration.

Sathya Sai College Working Bee

Whilst there was a lifting of some of the CIVID 19 restrictions in NSW, members of the SSIO Australia were able to support the valuable work done by the Sai College in Northern NSW by participating in a working bee to carry out maintenance and improvements to the college’s facilities. The College’s goal is to provide students with an academically excellent education based upon the NSW Board of Studies syllabus whilst incorporating the integration of universal human values within the curriculum.

The Sathya Sai College has had some important upgrades in its facilities and has been expanding its operations through 2019 and 2020 within both its Primary Education campus at Murrwillumbah and particularly with its Secondary Education Campus at Dungay. Of course, the restrictions placed upon schools during the COVID19 crisis have had impacts with online learning being an important development in the teaching delivery.

Sathya Sai College Sustainability Award

NSW’s Tweed Council is taking a pro-active role in encouraging sustainability in their area recognising the importance of management of the environment for social and economic well-being as well as for preservation for the future. On 15 November 2019, they conducted the inaugural ceremony presenting awards to Sustainability Champions. The Sathya Sai College at Murrwillumbah was the recipient of the People’s Choice Award for Schools.

Calling all workers!!! the Service Wing of the Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG is organising a working bee to carry out regular maintenance work on the two campuses of the Sathya Sai College at Murwillumbah NSW over the weekend of 14 & 15 July.
