MIND YOUR MENTAL HEALTH: A Mental Health Awareness Workshop – ACT

Mother’s Day Walk – ACT Region

The ACT Region of the Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG warmly invites all to a Mother’s Day walk to raise awareness for Breast Cancer research.

Sai group members in the ACT Region will join the Mother’s Day Classic Walk, an annual fun run and walk, to raise awareness for breast cancer research.

The aim of the Mother’s Day Classic, established in 1998, is to deliver a healthy and inspirational community event that brings the whole community in each state and territory together on Mother’s Day to support and remember those touched by breast cancer. . Over the last 20 years the Mother’s Day Classic has raised in excess of 30 million dollars for breast cancer research with more than 1.1 million people having walked or run more than 6.5 million kilometres.

Values Awareness for Parents Workshop – ACT

The Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG in collaboration with the Institute of Sathya Sai Education Australia (ISSEA) has organised a special workshop that examines the Human Values of Love, Peace, Truth, Right Conduct and Non-violence and their role in positive development of children. In this industrialised society, we live in, there are many courses available to ensure we are adequately trained and qualified for our jobs. However, there are not many to guide us through the great responsibility of bringing up the next generation to be ideal citizens. The Sathya Sai Values Parenting programme offers an opportunity to fulfil this great task based on a values-based programme.
The workshop will be held on Saturday, 14 October 2017 in Canberra, ACT.
All are welcome.

A Healthy Ageing Workshop for the Community – Report on the ACT Region’s Activity

A workshop titled ‘Healthy Ageing’ was held on 2 April 2017 between 9.30 am and 12 noon at the Senior Citizen’s Centre in Turner in Canberra, ACT. The workshop conducted by a team of health professionals provided valuable information concerning health-related issues facing people as they move into the senior years. It is proposed to conduct similar workshops in other locations in the future.
