Groups throughout the SSSIO in Australia came together to have a national service supporting the Birthing Kit Foundation in its life-saving activities for women and children at risk in childbirth situations in areas of inadequate medical services. [more]

120 Health professionals and volunteers from Fiji, New Zealand and Australia participated in a service mission in serving needy patients in remote areas of Fiji. This was a unique mission where the first camp was held on the main island of Viti Levu, after which most of the team undertook a night-time journey across the ocean by ferry to Vanua Levu, where they continued their service for five more days. The NSW Ladies Program of the SSSIO conducted a service project in May creating special cushions to support women at Westmead Hospital recovering from breast cancer surgery. Styled ‘Sai Cushions Project’ that initiative resulted in 150 cushions sewn, filled, and delivered. [more]
