About Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation

All of you should take a vow continually to develop the Service (Sevā) Organisations. Let all join in the activities. Treat all as the children of one God. Whomsoever you may serve, consider you are serving God. Then you will experience the Divine. You are bound to have that experience soon. Never give up the Organisation. Regard it as the breath of your life. This is real penance. Having this firm resolve, become exemplary leaders. This is My sole desire. Swami's love will accompany you everywhere.

Love All Serve All

The Sri Sathya Sai International Organization (SSSIO) is a non-denominational, voluntary, spiritual organization with a strong emphasis on selfless service and unity of faiths, is based in 120 countries. The members come from all faiths and share a common vision; to reach the ultimate goal of realisation of their innate divinity by practicing the teachings of love and service taught by their spiritual teacher, Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

At the core of the Organisation is the individual who believes in the assumption of personal responsibility for self-transformation through selfless love and service. The membership is free and open to all. Typically, individual seekers of love and peace, drawn by the experiences of friends and family members, come to their local or regional Sri Sathya Sai Centres for participation in weekly group spiritual singing together with other devotional and spiritual activities, as well as spiritual education for children and also to volunteer in regular service activities such as, giving food to the needy, organising medical camps and medical services, and many other forms of civic volunteerism.

The Sri Sathya Sai Centre provides a space for a such spiritual meetings of like-minded individuals; a communion of God-desiring people of all faiths. The goal of participation is ultimately the transformation of self and society into a place of selfless love, a place where the recognition of the divinity innate in every human being becomes possible. The living ideal of the SSSIO is the cultivation of oneness with others, family, community, nation and the world.

The SSSIO consists of about 2000 Sri Sathya Sai Centres. The centres’ activities are coordinated by voluntary organisational leaders working at centre, regional, national and international levels according to the Charter of the Organisation and broad guidelines and ideas envisioned by the governing bodies of the Organisation, the Sri Sathya Sai World Foundation and Prashanthi Council. The most important aspect of the Organisation though, is the fact that every day of the year, somewhere on this earth, a man, woman or child who desperately needs respite from some material problem like hunger or illness, and equally, needs a sign of kindness and love, gets both from volunteers of the Sri Sathya Sai Centres. For members of the SSSIO, service is not a mere gesture, but something that is rendered voluntarily, wholeheartedly and with the greatest of joy and love with no thought of reward or acknowledgement. The Organisation helps sustain, in thoughts, words, and actions, the legacy of love created by its founder, Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

Never use harsh words. You cannot always oblige, but you can always speak obligingly. Bodily wounds can be cured by using medicines. But the wounds inflicted by the tongue can never be healed.
