Frequently Asked Questions
When does this sadhana start and when does it end?
This is an offering to Swami's 100th, the journey starts on 24 April 2023 and ends on 23 November 2025.
Can I join this sadhana after the launch?
Yes, you can!
How do I measure the number of my steps?
You can use the buit-in Apps in your mobile, smart watch or just guesstimate ( A 7 to 10 minute walk is equivalent to an average of 1060 steps).
Are we meant to do 1 million steps collectively or individually? How many steps do I need to do in a day?
Each person is meant to complete 1 million steps by 23 Nov 2025. This does sound like a lot but you can accomplish this easily if you take 1060 conscious steps in a day. However, you can do however many steps you are able to.
How are my steps contributing to the service projects?
As you walk, we are collectively moving from one service project to the next as one Sai Family.
I'm unable to log my steps on the website.
Please contact your Regional or Centre Service Coordinator.
Can people of all ages get involved?
Yes, certainly. Parents can help young children log their steps.
I am unable to walk as a result of my physical condition and/or age. Can I still participate?
Yes! You can name a spiritual activity of your choosing and allocate 1060 steps for each 10 minutes of participation. (Spiritual activity meaning meditation, nama smarana, chanting Gayatri etc.
I would like to contribute more than my steps to the service projects. Whom can I contact?
Please contact your Centre President. They will send the questions to our Regional Service Coordinators. Kindly keep the Centre Service Coordinators informed as well.
Can I propose service projects that we can participate in?
Yes, you certainly can. Please send the details to the National Service Coordinator, service@sssio.org.au. Kindly keep the Centre President and the Centre Service Coordinators informed as well.
Why must we link my exercise to the service project rather than just identify service projects in various locations and implementing them?
When walking daily for this Sadhana, participants are encouraged to chant God's name/Ashtotram/Gayathri Mantra etc, listen to spiritual discourses and sharings, or have thoughts of God and the service we can render. This provides an opportunity to practice Constant Integrated Awareness more often. Therefore, a collective awareness of God and the service we offer to the community can create a more unified energy - Together as One family we move forward to complete each Service Project.
