On 23 March 2025, members of the SSSIOAU NSW Region visited the Shirdi Sai Temple in Castle Hill, joining the evening aarti and participating in heartfelt bhajan singing.
We were warmly welcomed by the temple community, and the evening unfolded in a spirit of devotion, reverence, and unity. As bhajans filled the temple with divine vibrations, participants reflected on the shared spiritual values taught by Sai Baba and embraced by many faiths.
A particularly moving moment occurred during the prayers when two birds flew into the temple, gently circling overhead. This rare and graceful event was seen as an auspicious sign, symbolising purity, blessings, and the divine presence. It reminded many of the harmony between nature and spirit, and the unity that transcends religious boundaries.
This visit also beautifully reflected the teachings of Sathya Sai Baba, who constantly emphasised the unity of all religions and the oneness of humanity.
“There is only one religion, the religion of Love.
There is only one caste, the caste of Humanity.
There is only one language, the language of the Heart.
There is only one God, and He is omnipresent.”
– Sri Sathya Sai Speaks, Vol. 18 Ch.30
Participants left the temple with full hearts and a renewed appreciation for the importance of mutual respect, spiritual unity, and shared service. The visit served as a living expression of Sathya Sai Baba’s principle of “Unity in Diversity”, encouraging all to see beyond labels and recognise the divine in everyone.
