Normanhurst Sai Centre’s 35th Anniversary

The Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Normanhurst NSW (NHSC) celebrated a remarkable milestone, its 35th anniversary on Sunday, 26 October 2025 at its regular gathering place, The Girl Guides Hall in Normanhurst. The occasion was commemorated with a special program that honoured both the Centre’s past and its enduring spiritual mission.

NHSC’s beginnings trace back to February 1990 at the Pennant Hills Community Centre, where its inaugural devotional singing session drew an attendance of over 300 members. Thirty-five years later, the anniversary celebration was a heartening gathering of over 85 people, including current members, former presidents, and past attendees, joined by esteemed dignitaries, including the National President and the NSW Region leadership of the Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation (SSSIO).

The spiritual highlight of the program was a beautiful presentation by the SSE children. These young spiritual seekers brought Swami’s teachings to life, speaking eloquently about the Five Universal Values—Sathya (Truth), Dharma (Right Conduct), Shanthi (Peace), and Prema (Love)—and how they integrate these principles into their daily lives. This was followed by a heartfelt musical offering, “Mana Bangaru Parthi Baba” (Our Golden Parthi Baba), performed in Telugu as the children collectively offered flowers, a symbolic gesture of welcome to Swami.

During this joyous occasion the National and NSW Region Presidents addressed the gathering. Their message strongly underscored the vital role a Sai Centre plays in the spiritual progress of a seeker, as prescribed by Swami. The celebration also served as a time for gratitude, with former Presidents being felicitated for their dedicated service. Finally, the evening concluded with past members and former SSE/Youth fondly reminiscing about the transformative time they spent at NHSC, sharing memories before concluding the night with Prasadam and a light dinner. It was a fitting tribute to three and a half decades of spiritual service and community building.
