“Journey with Sai” – Collective Reading Sadhana
The National Ladies Program of the SSSIOA lovingly invited all Zone 3 devotees to the “Journey with Sai” – Collective Reading Sadhana (spiritual undertaking) of the book ‘Sathyam Sivam Sundaram’ (SSS) Volumes 1 – 4 (authored by Prof N. Kasturi M.A, B.L) over a period of 2 years.
For Swami’s 100th year of Advent, we commenced with the reading of Volume 1 of SSS, which was the concluding National Ladies Program Sadhana for ‘Journey with Sai’. As one united Sai family, we wished to celebrate this Divine milestone and fill our lives with Swami’s boundless love and guiding light. We wanted to strengthen our faith, grow in devotion, and bask in the bliss of Divinity.
Sathyam Sivam Sundaram Vol I chronicles the Life Story of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba from 1926 to 1961.
Prof. Kasturi, who had the extreme fortune of being close to Baba, shares His mahimas (miracles)and leelas (Divine plays) with the readers with his inimitable style of writing. This sacred reading offers us the chance to draw closer to Swami’s life, message and eternal presence.
This collective reading Sadhana was a 16-week commitment commenced on Thursday, 31 July 2025 and concluded on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, which significantly was Ladies Day. There was a total of 72 registrants with 67 female and 5 male registrants. There were 60 Adults, 10 Young Adults and we were very happy to have 2 SSE participants. Participants were grouped, based on ‘States’, into WhatsApp groups. There were 30 from Qld, 19 from NSW, 10 from Vic, 6 from ACT, 5 from WA, and 1 from Tas. There were also 2 international participants, one of whom was included with the WA group as they had a family member there in that group and the other had been a former Qld resident.
Each participant was expected to read the 16 chapters of SSS Vol I, with one chapter being read per week starting on the Thursday, concluding on the following Wednesday. Participants had the option of reading from the hard copy of SSS Vol 1 or from a PDF. Version. The latter was mailed to those who requested a soft copy at the time of registration. Confirmation of completion of the required reading was by posting a message on the WhatsApp group by the Wednesday of the week. If all members of that group had completed the required reading by the end of Wednesday, an offering of that chapter was possible. Each group member then moved onto the next chapter of SSS on the next day (Thursday) of the week.
The 16 – week Collective Reading concluded on Ladies Day, 19 November 2025. At a Bhajan held in Queensland that night, a copy of SSS Volume 1 was placed at His Divine Feet and our united heart-felt gratitude was expressed to our beloved Swami for allowing us to offer this sadhana in the 100th year of HIS Advent.
There was positive feedback from the participants:
– “A tinge of sadness now we are coming to end of Volume 1. When you know a whole group pf Sai devotees are in this realm of togetherness is so bonding. Thank you for making this happen”.
– “It was great having the need to complete the commitment and enjoy the reading in community, as well as sharing in those amazing stories of Swami”.
– “It has been an absolutely soul enriching journey and I offer my humble pranams and gratitude to our beloved Bhagavan for giving me the opportunity to be part of this beautiful sadhana”.
– “Hoping to get into this reading habit on a regular basis now”.
– “The incentive to read and absorb Swami’s teachings in volume 1 was made possible by participating in this group activity”.
– “Very happy to be with our Sai family for this collective reading”.
With Swami’s Grace, we hope to commence the Collective Reading of Sathyam Sivam Sundaram- Volume 2 on Thursday, 5 March 2026. This will be a 14 -week Collective Reading commitment to our Dear Swami. Those devotees who have finished this Volume 1 Reading Sadhana, can let us know on the group chat, by Monday, 29 December 2025, whether they wish to continue with the SSS Volume 2’s 14 – week Collective Reading Sadhana.
May Swami Bless us all!
Jai Sai Ram!
