!! NEW !! The SSSIO Victoria Region recently undertook a service project to support “Share the Dignity”. This organisation works to achieve menstrual equity and combat period poverty by distributing essential period and hygiene products to women, girls, and those who menstruate who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, domestic violence, and or poverty.
The Sathya Sai Centre of Woolloongabba of the SSSIO Queensland Region conducted two special service activities in November to commemorate the birth of Sathya Sai Baba. These included contributing to the ‘Share the Dignity’ campaign and a special feeding program for those in need.
Taree and surrounding Regions of New South Wales have recently been impacted by devastating floods with the livelihood of residents in these communities being disrupted, with significant damage to homes, animal farms and loss of belongings. The NSW Region of the Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG (SSSIOA) reached out to the community in Taree and discovered ways that members could best assist with flood relief efforts.
The Mother’s Day Classic Walk was again supported nationally by the SSSIO in Australia with groups in 5 states participating in this national community event aimed at raising awareness of, and supporting research to address, breast and ovarian cancer. The Ladies Section of the SSSIO takes the lead in supporting this worthy event.
Commencing in August 2024, NSW Region of the Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG commenced a monthly program of feeding and providing other necessities to the homeless in the Sydney CDB area.
In furthering their understanding of the different religions and their commitment to promotion of Unity of Faiths, members of the Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG’s NSW Region recently participated in a spiritually enriching visit to the Australian Buddhist Vihara in Katoomba to celebrate Wesak Day
Clean Up Australia Day is a nationwide annual event held to promote environmental sustainability and cleaner communities. This year it was held on Sunday, 2 March with multiple activities around the country.
On Saturday, 22 February, members from the NSW Region of the SSSIO visited the Baitul Huda Mosque in Marsden Park as part of its the Unity of Faith initiatives.
On the 19th of December, Melbourne Centre of the Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG included in their regular homeless feeding program a special addition celebrating the Christmas spirit of love and sharing.
On the sunny evening of the 3rd of November, members of the Wentworthville Sai Centre including SSE children, young adults and adults, in collaboration with the NSW Region team, cooked and delivered 30 warm food packs, 60 water bottles and 30 breakfast drinks to members of the community who are living it tough on the streets of the Sydney CBD.
