“Journey with Sai” – Collective Reading Sadhana Sathyam Sivam Sundaram Volume 2
The National Ladies Program of the SSSIOA reverently continued their “Journey with Sai” and embarked on Spirituality 101 with the next Collective Reading Sadhana of the book ‘Sathyam Sivam Sundaram’ (SSS) Volume 2 (authored by Prof N. Kasturi M.A, B.L).
Sathyam Sivam Sundaram Vol 2 chronicles the Life Story of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba from 1962 to 1968. Prof. N Kasturi is the chosen biographer of Bhagawan who lived with Swami and experienced the Divine leelas during these years. Prof Kasturi gives a clarion call to all: “Come! Give me your hand; We shall go along page after page, sharing the wonder and the wisdom, the awe and the mystery, the truth and the testimony, the glory and the grandeur, and the abundance of the peace”.
The 14-week Collective reading Sadhana commenced on Thursday, 5 March 2026 and concluded on Wednesday, 10 June 2026. Total number of participants were 68 (63 Adults, 4 Young Adults, 1 SSE student) participated in this Sadhana. Participants were grouped, based on ‘Regions’, into WhatsApp groups. Participants (63 women, 5 men) were 4 from ACT, 24 from NSW, 27 from QLD, 1 from TAS, 5 from VIC and 5 from WA. There were also 2 international participants, one of whom was included with the WA group as they had a family member in that group and the other had been a former QLD resident.
Each participant was expected to read the 14 chapters, with one chapter being read per week starting on the Thursday, concluding on the following Wednesday. Participants had the option of reading from a hard copy of the book or from a PDF. Confirmation of completion of the required reading was by posting a message on the WhatsApp group by the Wednesday of the week. If all members of that group had completed the required reading by the end of Wednesday, an offering of that chapter was possible. Each group member then moved onto the next chapter of the book on the next day (Thursday) of the week.
This Collective Reading Sadhana was completed on Wednesday, 10 June 2026. We dedicated this Offering at HIS DIVINE FEET with immense gratitude.
A participant’s Journey with Sai through Volume 2 is shared below.
There is a reason and season for all things in life. I read about a collective reading Sadhana, of Prof Kasturi’s Sathyam Shivam Sundaram, Vol 1, that had happened in the 100th year of the Divine Advent and wished I could have been a part of it.
Months later, a chance conversation led to the discovery that the sadhana was commencing again, with the only pre-requisite being the completion of reading Vol 1.
Diving into the opportunity, I was soon lost in the nectarine world of Swami’s early years in Vol 1, as presented through the blessed writings of Prof Kasturi. Completing it, I waited impatiently for the reading Sadhana of Vol 2 to begin.
Amidst the routines and daily humdrum of life, each week, I eagerly read the allocated chapter of Vol 2, devouring it more from the heart than the eyes.
I was transported into a time and place beside Swami, as He journeyed tirelessly sharing His love, blessings and teachings to multitudes across the length and breadth of the country. I marvelled at how much Prof Kasturi had managed to pack into each chapter on the Divine and capture so much bliss for posterity to enjoy.
An image etched in my mind is how, on a hot day, after travelling across long and dusty country roads, to a remote village with narrow lanes, Swami used a rickety bamboo ladder to scale a high mud wall, using it as a platform, so that the gathered villagers could see and hear Him speak. This is but one of the countless moments that give a glimpse into the ocean of Love, Compassion and Grace of Swami.
To me this has been a journey of discovery, love, joy, miracles and a reinforcement of my faith in Him. Thank you Swami. – Sudha
