SSSIO Victoria Region assisting with winter relief service
Throughout the month of June, members of SSSIO Victoria Region came together to assist ‘The Winter Crisis Packs’ appeal of the Mums Supporting Families in Need (MSFIN) NGO. With winter well underway, stepping up to assist local families facing the biting cold could not have come at a more critical time.
The response from our Sai members was nothing short of inspiring. Weekly collections quickly overflowed with brand-new winter clothing, cozy blankets, winter shoes, and other essentials. Volunteers eagerly rolled up their sleeves and sorted through the mountain of donations, working together in teams to organise clothing by age and size to cover everyone from tiny newborns up to adults. Many other essentials were also collected to complete these care packages to families in need.
When the donations were delivered to the MSFIN warehouse, their team was deeply moved by the donations and noted that it could not have come at a better time. They shared that these packs would a great assistance in bringing relief and comfort to families across Victoria who are struggling this winter.
