NSW Region: Feeding the homeless
Commencing in August 2024, NSW Region of the Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG commenced a monthly program of feeding and providing other necessities to the homeless in the Sydney CDB area.

In furthering their understanding of the different religions and their commitment to promotion of Unity of Faiths, members of the Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG’s NSW Region recently participated in a spiritually enriching visit to the Australian Buddhist Vihara in Katoomba to celebrate Wesak Day
A Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) and Sai Family Picnic Day was held in the ACT Region on Sunday, 6 April 2025 at the Australian National Botanic Gardens, a heritage listed botanical gardens located in Acton, Canberra in the ACT. Nature inspired activities and a picnic atmosphere made for a wonderful day.
Clean Up Australia Day is a nationwide annual event held to promote environmental sustainability and cleaner communities. This year it was held on Sunday, 2 March with multiple activities around the country.
On Saturday, 22 February, members from the NSW Region of the SSSIO visited the Baitul Huda Mosque in Marsden Park as part of its the Unity of Faith initiatives.
On the 19th of December, Melbourne Centre of the Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation of Australia & PNG included in their regular homeless feeding program a special addition celebrating the Christmas spirit of love and sharing.
In May 2024, the SSSIO facilitated two face-to-face workshops on Reflective Clinical Practice for Healthcare Workers with an underlying theme of, ‘Reconnecting with the Heart of Healthcare’. They consisted of presentations by two eminently qualified and experienced professionals, Dr. Rajat Gyaneshwar and Dr. Swaran Naidu.
The Mother’s Day Classic Walk is a national community event aimed at raising awareness of, and supporting research to address, breast and ovarian cancer. For some years now, the Ladies Program of the SSSIO in Australia has been supporting this worthy event. Once again, this year the groups throughout Australia had members participate in the various walks organised by the Mother’s Day Classic Foundation.
In the warm embrace of the Australian summer sun, with the spiritual Mount Warning standing tall looking over the Sathya Sai College in Dungay, NSW, a group of children from across the country embarked on an experiential journey at the Sai Spiritual Retreat. This retreat was not just a getaway; it was a sacred space where young hearts found solace, joy, and spiritual nourishment from the 25th – 27th January.
The Birthing Kit Assembly Day activity was organised by the Service Wing of the ACT Region. The service was done to support ‘The Birthing Kit Foundation of Australia’, an organisation dedicated to providing a clean and safe birthing environment for women around the world who for reasons of isolation, cultural choice, or poor transport have little or no assistance during childbirth. By providing a clean birthing kit, these mothers will have the resources to reduce infection and its possible dire consequences.
